 Columbia Turkey Chase 10K And Relay

Join fellow turkey lovers, runners and friends for an appetite-inducing morning of good-natured competition. Presented by Rip It Events, the 7th Annual Columbia Turkey Chase is a 10K Run, 2-Person Relay & Kid’s Fun Run located in the heart of Columbia, MD. Looking for your next PR course? This course is fast!
This race will consist of a individual, 2-person relay option & Kids Fun Run. Start and finish is near Nottinghams Bar & Grill on Stanford Blvd. This race provides runners with a slightly rolling & fast course on Columbia roads. This event is perfect for both beginners and experienced runners.

8:02 AM – 10K & Relay Foot Runners
8:05 AM – Kid’s Fun Run
Course Information:  
10K Course:
The 6.2 mile course starts and finishes in the parking lot near Nottingham’s Restaurant/Bar. This is an out-and-back course. 100% of the course is on paved road surface. The course is flat with an elevation gain of only 164 feet. Their is no course cut off time. Water & gatorade stations will be located near miles 1,3, 5. Each athlete is required to complete 1 loop of the run course.
​Relay Course
Don’t want to do the full 10K course but still want to participate? Create a 2-person team and and participate in the relay division! Each participate will run 3.1 miles (5K). The following applies to all relays:
Runner A will start, run 3.1 miles, and exchange race bib number with Runner B at the relay exchange point (prior to the turn around cone). Runner B will continue to the turn around cone and run 3.1 miles to the finish line.
Relay teams will be given one numbered race bib. Runner A is required to exchange race bib with Runner B at the relay exchange point. It is suggested that relay teams wear their bib number on a “race belt” and exchange the race belt with their teammate.
There is no course cut off time. All relay team members are responsible for traveling to their assigned start location. Rip It Events will not be responsible for transporting relay team members. There is ample parking at Jeffers Hill Pool for relay teammate – B runners.
​Kid’s Fun Run Course:
This race is for kids between the ages of 4 and 10 years. The distance of this race 0.4 miles. The Kid’s Fun Run will will take place immediately after the start of the 10K/Relay. All participants must register for this race.

Awards:
All participants will receive a finisher medal at the finish line. Kid’s Fun Run participants will receive a “winner” medal. The award ceremony will be located near the finish area. Awards will be given to participants who earn 1st through 3rd place (male & female).

This Thanksgiving Morning, November 22nd, 2018, over 900 runners, walkers, and spectators will flock to Laurel’s Historic District for the 14th Annual 5K Turkey Trot to Benefit Laurel Advocacy & Referral Services, Inc. (LARS).
​This event has gained a loyal following and continues to grow each year, raising crucial funds for LARS, a Laurel-based non-profit organization that for the past 32 years has been helping homeless and low-income families and individuals achieve stability and self-sufficiency. This year, our goal is to raise $60,000 to help provide food, financial help, and housing to Laurel residents in crisis.
